The third-floor and basement "chapter room" received a facelift over the summer of 2023. Third-floor renovations were modeled off of those completed summer '22. New carpet was laid in the third-floor study rooms and cold-air dorm. All of the wooden wardrobe closets in the study rooms were painted a bright white and all of the walls received a fresh coat of paint. Each room has a subdued accent color on one wall. LED lighting was added to the study desks and all study room light fixtures were replaced with LED fixtures.
The basement "chapter room" had the old asbestos tile floor abated and received new carpet over the summer that ties in with the new wall paint completed several years ago.
Top: Wardrobe cabinets are painted & walls are ready for paint. Bottom: Completed study rooms (minus newly painted radiator covers) and our House Corporation Vice President & President checking out the new carpet in the basement "chapter room".
Other projects completed:
New easy-to-maintain plastic chairs in the breakfast room
New air-conditioning unit in the House Director apartment (partially funded by donations in memory of former House Director "Mom Bev")
New draperies in the new chapter/dining room
Two living room chairs were reupholstered
New exhaust fan installed in powder room
New shelving unit for the basement crafts room
Gutters and downspouts were cleaned
Parking lot cracks were sealed and numbers re-painted
All of the storage areas were cleaned out & old decorations donated
